You Know What They Say About Zombies, Right?

They travel in packs.

Not the best subject-to-body segue, but whatever. It’s Friday Jr. Which translates to “deal with it.”

You know I’m not much for regular updates these days, but given the fact that we have another day of potentially great zombie news, I’m here for you. In times of great need, I’ve got your back. You should know that.

Are you a fan of The Walking Dead or just generally Robert Kirkman? Are you into video games? I probably throw this phrase out all too often in the video game arena, but *expletive* it, have I got a peanut butter and chocolate moment for you! IGN‘s Greg Miller recently sat down with Robert Kirkman not to discuss the future of the comic or the tv show (much), but to confirm that there will be a video game for his Great American Zombie Comic Epic (a literary class unto itself). Or should I say, releases. Yes, while details are scarce, Kirkman confirmed that Telltale Games would be releasing episodic video gameness in Walking Dead form. The article doesn’t flesh out any actual gameplay elements as, well, they haven’t decided upon any that can be officially announced yet, but it’s something to note. Especially for the super fans out there, which I’m pretty sure would make up the demographic of people interested in episodic content.

"I can has Tony Moore's art?"

Did I just show my general lack of enthusiasm for episodic content? Whoops. My bad.

If anyone can pull it off, Telltale certainly has the pedigree for it with Sam & Max in addition to the Back to the Future franchises (which consist of episodic releases). I’m just jaded after the first season of the tv show, which seemed like it would “OMFG SEW GOOD!” Instead, and this is just a personal opinion, it assaulted and sought to inflict damage upon its source material. Not intentionally, but by design. It seems you demand that you choose the comic or the show. As the first season drew to a close, I chose to stick with the girl who brought me to the dance.

This news kind of devolved to a critique of the show, but as Mills Lane used to say: I’ll allow it!

Only now I’m pretty much done here.
